Are you constantly misplacing your wallet or keys to the car and forgetting where you put these items? Are you forgetting other important things too such as appointments, or your shifts at work? If so, you could be suffering from memory loss. Memory loss occurs for various reasons and figuring out those reasons is necessary in order to correct the issue properly.

#1. Sleep Apnea

Sleep apnea is a condition that disrupts the normal sleeping cycle as your body is resting. It causes difficultly breathing as you sleep and can wake you up gasping for air. Whether your body is woken up from its natural sleeping cycle, it is not being repaired properly. This means your mind is going to function poorly and you are not going to be able to think clearly at times or remember the things you need too. In order to stop memory loss from happening you need to get this disorder diagnosed and properly treated by a doctor.

#2. Strokes

Sometimes memory loss occurs due to strokes. Strokes cause major blockages in brain’s blood vessels, which causes the body to forget important and non-important things or events, causes speech problems and can effect the way the body moves. This is because during a stroke vascular cognitive impairment occurs, which thankfully can be treated with a wide range of therapies and treatments. However, an early sign of memory loss can be a sign that strokes could affect you in the future, which in reason to take preventative measures such as eating right, staying hydrated and exercising the body properly to minimize the risks of suffering from strokes.

#3. Medications

If you are on any kind of particular medication such as sleeping pills, antihistamines, anti-depressants, pain relievers, blood pressure medications or diabetic medications these could potentially be causing your memory loss issues. Sometimes a change in medication is all that is necessary to correct the memory loss issues so talk with your doctor and see what he or she can do to help you.

#4. Poor Diet

When a diet lacks important nutrients such as B vitamins the nervous system functions poorly, which means the mind is functioning poorly causing severe confusion and dementia. To ensure your body and mind are getting the nutrients it needs daily in order to keep your  mind and body healthy it is wise to eat a well-balance diet that consist of organic fresh fruits and vegetables, lean proteins, whole grains, raw dairy and plenty of seeds and nuts. If you still are not getting the proper nutrition by changing up your diet to a healthier one, it is time to add a daily vitamin supplement to your diet.

#5. Depression

Sometimes memory loss is due to the body and mind being overly stressed out due to anxieties or chronic depression. Talking with a therapist and seeking medical help from a doctor can help treat the condition properly so you can begin to remember important things again as well as be happy.

The conditions just mentioned are only a handful of reason to what could be potentially causing your memory loss. If you are suffering from memory loss often it is wise to visit a doctor for a proper diagnose so you can begin to get control of your mind again so you can remember all those important or little things that you need too in a day to day bases. Heck, maybe all you really need to do is relax and get some sleep to restore the mind and body again so you can begin to function again properly.
