Cockroaches are insects many of you may know as pest. They invade homes that are warm and damp and love feeding off human food as well as pet food. When this occurs, it is time to rid them from your home because these pests carry deadly microbes on their body that are dangerous to humans and pets. Worst of all, they can leave an offensive odor where they are hanging out in your home. If you have these insects in your home use, the natural remedies below to help rid them away immediately to prevent future health risks to you and your family.

1. Baking Soda Sugar Remedy

One of the safest remedies for you, but one of the most deadly remedies against cockroaches is a baking soda and sugar remedy. All you do is combine a cup or two of baking soda with a half-cup or a cup of sugar inside a disposable cup and place the cup of mixture wherever the pests are coming into your home. The insects will be attracted to the sugar, but once they eat the mixture the acid in the baking soda will kill them instantly. You can even sprinkle the mixture about the outside boarders around your home to prevent the nasty insects from coming in.

2. Bay Leaves Around Your Home

Another way to deter these insects and rid them from your home is with the use of bay leaves. Simply place bay leaves or sprinkle crushed bay leaves wherever the pests are entering into your home. As soon as the pests smell the scent coming from the bay leaves, they will leave the home because they simply hate the smell that comes from bay leaves.

3. Ammonia Wash Solution

Ammonia is not exactly the most safest method for ridding cockroaches from your home, but for severe infestations you can combined two to three cups of ammonia with a gallon of water, fill a few spray bottles with the solution and spray down the areas of your home where they hangout the most. The pungent smell that comes from the ammonia solution will cause the insects to stay away.

4. Liquid Dish Soap Solution

Liquid dish soap solutions are another outstanding home remedy you can use for killing cockroaches directly. All you do is fill a spay bottle with a forth cup of lemon or lavender dish soap and fill it the rest of the bottle with water. After, spray the insects directly with the spray and it will kill them on contact. Repeat this daily for every cockroach you see that comes into your home. Eventually, the roaches will stop entering and your home can be free from them. You can even spray the solution wherever the cockroaches are entering your home to prevent them from invading it.

5. Boric Acid Bait

Boric acid kills cockroaches as soon as they ingest it. You can make boric acid baits to attract the cockroaches using dough balls and sprinkling the boric acid all around it near the cockroach’s entrances. As soon as the insects ingest the bait they will die within minutes since the acid burns their insides out.

6. Spicy Powder Remedy

Combine cayenne pepper, black pepper, garlic powder and onion powder in a shaky container and sprinkle the mixture all around the entrances the cockroaches crawl in through on a daily basis. You can even sprinkle the mixture onto the insects directly and it will burn them and kill them.

7. Spray Listerine

Spraying Listerine directly onto the nasty insects also helps kill them since Listerine contains alcohol in it, which burns the insects to death.
