Study: Raw Garlic may cut lung cancer risk

Garlic has been used as both food and medicine since the dawn of civilization. The Ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Romans all praised it for its healing properties. In fact, Hippocrates, Pliny the Elder, Galen and others of the ancient world tell us about how garlic was used to treat a variety of conditions, from poor digestion, low energy, parasites and respiratory problems.

And its healing power on that last treatment, for respiratory problems, has now been confirmed by a new Chinese study.

Researchers from the Jiangsu Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention in China analysed the data from 1424 lung cancer patients as well as from 4500 healthy adults that was collected from 2003 to 2010. They confirmed that non-smokers who frequently eat raw garlic may cut the risk of lung cancer by 44 percent.

And for those that do smoke, it may still cut the risk by 30 percent.

The reason for Garlic’s healing properties is because of a chemical called allicin, researchers say. Allicin seems to protect against the damage caused by free radicals, as well as reduce inflammation.

As a researcher, traveller, musician and supporter of liberty, I spend a lot of time thinking, philosophizing and analyzing the reality in which we live, and the world which we have constructed, and I feel like I have a lot that I must convey to people, as best as I can.

For the sake of freedom, health and all that is natural and good, let's raise the consciousness of as many people as we can.
