Stage 4 Cancer Gone with Baking Soda Treatment

One of the biggest challenges in modern mainstream medicine remains being able to treat cancer in a way which destroys cancer cells while leaving the healthy tissues intact. Since cancer remains one of the top ten killers in the United States (and comparable in other countries), this is a major problem. And unfortunately, especially for patients who are diagnosed when the disease is already well-advanced, there are few good treatment options. One often suggested in chemotherapy, but whether it works or not (and it does often fail), the body’s immune system and other functions can be severely compromised. This is one case study of a man, Vernon Johnston, who used a natural alternative to chemotherapy for his Stage 4 prostate cancer.

Vernon’s Case

When Vernon Johnston was diagnosed with prostate cancer, the disease was already well-advanced; when cancer is at Stage 4, this means that it has already spread to other parts of the body; in Mr. Johnston’s case, his bones had been affected. There were very few treatment options for him and chemotherapy would have been long and expensive and with no guarantees of success. It also meant that there would be long-term side effects such as a compromised immune system which would leave him more vulnerable to other infections and diseases.

Vernon’s Choice

Vernon, instead of opting for chemotherapy, decided originally to try treatment with cesium chloride, a substance which is rarely offered as a choice for cancer patients but which works but raising the body’s pH to combat cancer. Cesium chloride therapy has about a 50% success rate, a rate better than either chemo- or radiotherapy. However, the cesium which he ordered never arrived, so Vern went with a DIY pH raiser: baking soda.

Vernon found a recipe on the Internet which called for mixing baking soda (chemical name: bicarbonate of sodium) with maple syrup but actually used molasses instead. Baking soda, like cesium chloride, has an alkalizing effect on the body, raising it pH by neutralizing acid (hence its use to fight heartburn, for instance). This is important for cancer treatment: because cancer cells grow at a much faster rate, they also metabolize carbohydrates at a much faster rate than normal cells and, through a complicated chemical process, this causes the area around a cancerous tumor to become very acidic. This acidity, in turn, leads tumors to grow even faster, so the process is one which essentially feeds on itself. Baking soda – and other alkalizing agents like the cesium chloride – stops this process by alkalizing the area around the tumor and essentially starving the tumor cells to stop their spread and development.

For more information on this subject, one excellent resource is the book Sodium Bicarbonate – Rich Man’s Poor Man’s Cancer Treatment, which discusses not only the link between acidity and cancer but also the effective medical uses for sodium bicarbonate. It is something that everyone with cancer or their families – should read to understanding that there are more natural and effective alternatives to cancer treatment than what most mainstream practitioners currently offer.
