As the nuclear fallout from Fukushima reaches our Pacific beaches it’s time to personally accept and respond to this major catastrophe. Mike Adams of Natural News is reporting that local county officials in Half Moon Bay, CA have found a 500% increase in radiation on their beaches. It is now widely believed that the radioactive element, Cesium-137, has entered our entire food supply in the Pacific. I repeat – all fish, shellfish and crustaceans from the Pacific Ocean are now radioactive!
Cesium-137 had not been seen on earth for billions of years until the Chicago Pile-1 nuclear reactor was built in 1942. It does not naturally occur in the environment and the health effects are unknown. Officials from TEPCO, the owners of the plant, have made contradicting reports about the containment and actual leakage still happening today!
What can I do?
The evidence is overwhelming that the Fukushima disaster will go down as the worst nuclear, and possibly the worst environmental, disaster of all time. It is clear from tests that ‘so far’ the entire Pacific Ocean has been completely contaminated, and it’s only a matter of time before the rest of our entire marine food source is compromised.
Fish is an important part of our diet; specifically they provide omega-3 long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LPUFA) that cannot be found anywhere else. The fatty acids, especially in the form of DHA and EPA, have a myriad of established health benefits, from cancer to heart disease protection. These forms of omegas are used for people with type II diabetes, improving memory, heart function and reducing overall inflammation.
Jordan Markuson, of Aqua Health Labs, suggests, “The prudent measure is to avoid any and all marine life from the Pacific Ocean for at least one year.” Why one year? Like all great cover-ups (think the BP oil spill) we are probably still being lied to by the governments and companies with the most to lose.
Humans have long evolved on omega-3 fatty acids and we can’t just stop taking them altogether. However, eating omega-3 with cesium-137 does not sound like a good option. The best solution is to stick to sea life that has been grown in purified ocean like conditions. Phytoplankton is an excellent source for LCPUFA’s, especially DHA and EPA, which are very difficult to find elsewhere in a natural diet and should be supplemented. Aqua Health Labs suggest taking live PhytOriginal, a phytoplankton, purified in ocean conditions that cannot be contaminated by Cesium-137. It’s time to take a break from fish for awhile. Don’t become another cancer statistic of the monumental failure by TEPCO!
