Please take a moment to listen to Mozart’s Sonata for two pianos in D major, K.448.

As you do so experience the vibration and quality of sound that allows all a connection to the deeper aspects of beautiful sounds… especially sacred sounds such as mantras used in some forms of meditation. Mantras perfectly replicate such vibration that then allows for meditation to become more than just a space of relaxation.

The mantra has three qualities, which empower it to do that:

  1. It acts as an object of concentration, because the mind has to have something to focus on; it cannot be objectless. The mind’s nature is to focus on a specific whether this is the actual conscious use of sound and vibration or simply the unconscious play of thoughts and the energies that they carry.
  2. Everything has a particular vibration. You may like music with a congenial vibration to your own. You may like someone when their vibration is in harmony with your own. The mantra, in a similar way, also has a particular wavelength, and that wavelength vibrates the mind with the feeling of infinite happiness – bliss.
  3. “As you think, so you become.” This powerful psychological principle is the mainstay of meditation. If you think negatively, your life will be negative; if you think positively, your life will be positive. We are continually in the process of becoming the object of our thoughts and their feeling and meaning.

So the meaning and depth of the mantra is vital. It must be of the most uplifting essential quality – the most positive of thoughts – pure reflection of true potential, infinite happiness, perfect peace and contentment – bliss.

By allowing the above to be activated, not only on a conscious level but most importantly on a subconscious level, where we meditate regularly on the thought and quality of bliss, one’s mind gradually expands, and that expansion continues until one’s limited sense of existence merges into the infinite true potential of existence.

One’s individual experience of pleasure and pain eventually gets transformed into the constant experience of enlightened bliss, just as a river attains total freedom when it merges with the sea. Create a deep connection to a sound beyond sound, the vibration of infinite expansion that allows all a connection to the deeper aspects of who we are – pure and infinite in our essence.
