How to Deal with the Flu and Survive Flu Epidemics

image

Background

During its more than 200 year history, classical homeopathy has proven to be highly effective in epidemics, both as regards cure and prevention, with well-documented success rates in, among others, scarlet fever, polio, cholera and flu epidemics, and offers a viable alternative to standard vaccination called homeoprophylaxis.

In the Spanish flu epidemic of 1918, statistics ran as follows: 30% mortality in patients treated with conventional medicine, 1% mortality in patients treated with classical homeopathic remedies—and there were large numbers involved in these statistics.

The link to the PowerPoint file: Homeopathy and the Treatment of Epidemic Diseases at the end of this article will lead to many examples of successful classical homeopathic treatment in various kinds of epidemics.

Prevention

As a homeoprophylactic measure, you can keep the flu away from your door by taking the classical homeopathic remedy Influenzinum 200C once a month during the flu season. An alternative remedy is Oscillococcinum 200C. The “200C” refers to the potency of the remedy.

If an epidemic should appear in your area, take Influenzinum 30C three times a week while it lasts. You can get this remedy by mail from suppliers listed in the links at the end of this article, where details on how to take a classical homeopathic remedy are also given.

Annual Flu

The Start Phase

Preventing or nipping the flu in the bud is the best strategy. Below follow some possible flu scenarios along with the indicated classical homeopathic remedy:

After exposure to a cold wind
For the first stages of flu symptoms after being exposed to a cold wind or getting chilled, for example, by alternating between warm and an air-conditioned environments.
Classical homeopathic remedy: Aconitum Napellus 200C (also called Aconite).

Every movement causes pain
You must lie absolutely still. You have a painful dry cough, headache and pains. You feel better from pressure, worse from movement. You are irritable and thirsty for cold drinks.
Classical homeopathic remedy: Bryonia Alba 200C

Aching muscles and/or bones
You have an intensely aching back, limbs, and especially bones—which feel broken. Sore skin and muscles. Shivering chills. You thirst for cold water. You may vomit food, drink and bile. There may be headache with nausea; a sore chest with cough.
Classical homeopathic remedy: Eupatorium perfoliatum 200C

Extreme chilliness.
You are shivery and chilly, unable to get warm despite being in a warm place. You have a fever, but are freezing inside. Your limbs are aching and you have gastric problems, nausea. You are better from sleep, better from hot drinks, better from strong pressure, better from being left alone.
Classical homeopathic remedy: Nux Vomica 200C

Weakness in muscles and limbs
You have an aching tiredness and weakness, especially in muscles and limbs. You are drowsy, dull, apathetic, dizzy and trembling. You have heavy, drooping eyelids with a bruising headache extending from the neck to the head and forehead. You are chilly and hot, but not thirsty.
Classical homeopathic remedy: Gelsemium sempervirens 200C

The Post-Flu Phase
Continued debility and chilliness
You are anemic and weak with a desire to stretch and move. Worse on alternate days.
Classical homeopathic remedy: China officinalis 200C

General weakness with spasms
The slightest activity seems like heavy work.
Classical homeopathic remedy: Kali phosphoricum 200C

Chronic fatigue after flu
You are better from warmth, better from sleep. You feel apathetic, emotionally exhausted, dull, indifferent to everything. There may be low continued fevers.
Classical homeopathic remedy: Phosphoricum acidum 200C

Continued unrelenting cough
Your cough continues for weeks after the flu vanished.
Classical homeopathic remedy: Tuberculinum 200C

How to Take Flu Remedies
Basically, when symptoms of flu are noted a potency of 200C is taken once. If there is no change within an hour or so, the remedy is probably incorrect and another should be tried.

If you note a change for better or worse, wait until the change has passed. If you feel better, don’t take any more until you get worse again. If there is no change, try another remedy.

Basically, classical homeopathic remedies work like opening a lock with a key. If the key fits, the lock will open, otherwise not. Then you have to try another key until you find the right one.

Flu Epidemics

In an epidemic, there will be a classical homeopathic remedy picture that matches the collective symptom picture of the disease among those affected. This is called the Genus Epidemicus and will be the indicated remedy to take for a cure.

With the bird flu, the symptoms described by survivors of the H5N1 virus resemble the symptoms produced in healthy persons who took one of the following classical homeopathic remedies:

  • Antimonium tartaricum
  • Ipecacuanha
  • Sanguinaria canadensis

Thus, the symptom pictures of these remedies (check the Internet) should be examined for a match in flu caused by the bird flu virus. Use the remedy with the closest match to treat the patient.

Known symptoms of the bird flu are: fever, cough, sore throat, muscle aches, eye infections, pneumonia, acute respiratory distress, severe coughs that tear muscles and pneumonia.

At present, about 50% of patients die with intensive hospital care. The death rate during the Spanish flu in 1918 was only 5%, but killed from 50 to 100 million people—and in an era with much less international travel to spread infection. Imagine the devastation the 50% mortality rate of the bird flu would produce now.

With any epidemic flu, such as the bird and swine flu, if you have no other recourse, there is a procedure for making a homeopathic remedy at home that will keep you alive, although you may have a rough time of it.

You may think the following procedure is a crazy thing to do. But, if you are sick with the bird flu with the prospect of having one week to live, and no other help is available, you might consider it. Besides, Einstein said that if an idea didn’t seem crazy, it wasn’t worth anything.

This procedure is based on isopathy (curing a disease with the virus of the same disease), which has proven successful for many ailments. You could check out this method of treatment, which is akin to classical homeopathy.

A curious and interesting fact is that in some regions of Brazil, if a child is bitten by a snake, the mother will immediately hunt the snake down, cut its head off and apply the stump to the bite wound to cure the child.

How to Make Your Own Flu Remedy

What you need:

  1. A face mask and gloves
  2. Two bottles (50 ml up to 500 ml glass or plastic bottles) with caps
  3. Clean water (mineral or tap water)
  4. A flu sample: some spit or other disease product from a person sick with this particular flu (swine, bird flu, etc.). Any small quantity will do, even a pinhead of it.
  5. An alcoholic liquid, such as whisky, brandy, rum, etc.
  6. Half an hour of your time.

Procedure:

  1. Fill the bottle with water, leaving about 20% space at the top.
  2. Place the flu sample in the water in the bottle.
  3. Close the top of the bottle with the cap.
  4. Hold the bottle and strike it hard against a solid surface, such as a large book, 40 times.
  5. Pour out the contents of the bottle.
  6. Refill the bottle with water (the fluid remaining on the inside surface of the bottle will serve as the flu sample).
  7. Repeat steps 3 to 6 a total of 30 times.

Storage:

  1. Pour the bottle solution into another bottle—your stock bottle.
  2. Add 10% by volume of the alcoholic liquid (whisky, brandy, etc.) as a preservative.
  3. Store in a place away from sunlight and electronic equipment.

Using  this stock bottle, you can supply the flu remedy to as many people you want. With one drop from the stock bottle as a flu sample you can produce another stock bottle to give to someone else. Instead of the original flu sample you used above to make the original stock bottle, you use a drop from the first stock bottle. This process can be carried out ad infinitum, supplying a whole city, etc., if needed.

Taking Your Home-Made Flu Remedy
For prevention:

  1. Place a teaspoonful of your flu remedy from the stock bottle into a cup filled with water.
  2. Stir the water 5 times with a disposable spoon or stick.
  3. Take a sip from the cup.
  4. During the epidemic, take a sip once or twice a day, stirring 5 times before taking the sip.
  5. Refill the cup as needed after striking the stock bottle against a hard surface 5 times.

If you are sick with the flu:

  1. Place a teaspoonful of flu remedy from your stock bottle into a cup filled with water.
  2. Stir the water 5 times with a disposable spoon or a stick.
  3. Take a sip every 15 minutes, stirring 5 times each time until you notice improvement, then stop.
  4. On improving, you can ease off and take the remedy every hour or so, again stirring 5 times before taking the remedy each time.
  5. Refill the cup as needed after striking the stock bottle against a hard surface 5 times.

Post treatment
If the epidemic flu has passed and you are still suffering from symptoms, you can continue with the applicable remedies indicated above for the post-flu phase.

New Techniques in Homeopathy

The British homeopath Peter Chappell has developed new techniques for making remedies and achieved great success in treating AIDS, particularly in Africa, where he has started clinical projects in several countries (search the Internet for details).

He has developed a remedy in pill form for the bird flu which is sold by Helios, a large British pharmacy and worldwide supplier of homeopathic remedies (see suppliers below).

Peter Chappell has discovered a novel way of distributing remedies via a short piece of music lasting about ten seconds. These so-called “mp3 remedies” can be downloaded, and include remedies for the bird flu, swine flu and numerous other ailments.

Such mp3 remedies could be sent by e-mail or transmitted via radio and television, reaching large populations and enormously reducing the logistic problems with remedy distribution. At the time of a bird flu scare some years ago, a radio station in Estepona, Spain was prepared to transmit Peter Chappell’s bird flu mp3 remedy, if the flu should strike.

These are new techniques which need to be proven further in order to gain wide acceptance, but offer some very interesting possibilities.

How to Ingest Classical Homeopathic Remedies
There should be no taste in your mouth on taking a classical homeopathic remedy. Thus, you should not eat or drink anything (besides water) at least fifteen minutes before or after taking it.

This also applies to smoking. Nor should there be any strong odor, such as from perfume, incense, etc. present in the room. You can take a classical homeopathic remedy any time of the day or night, keeping these points in mind.

Avoid touching a pill with your fingers as your energy field can neutralize the information carried. Use the remedy container cap instead, or some other means, to throw a pill onto your tongue. Allow the remedy to dissolve on your tongue as if it were a piece of candy (actually it is in a way, since it consists of milk sugar, i.e., lactose, plus a trace of alcohol). Liquids remedies are dripped onto the tongue.

Wait at least fifteen minutes before eating or drinking anything besides water. Afterwards you can eat and drink as you normally do.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Many people have asked me: ”How is it possible that such a tiny pill can bring about such a great improvement in such a short time?” And it is true. Classical homeopathic pills are usually quite small—about 1 mm or 1/32 inch, which makes it hard to believe they could do anything, especially when people are told that they contain no chemicals—only energy or information that stimulates the body to cure itself.

The size of the pill and its lack of chemical drugs is a great leap of faith for some and an object of ridicule for others, who consider the effects to be of a placebo nature. However, these pills work on babies, pets, livestock and wild animals—even plants—so where the placebo idea might fit into this would be hard to explain, except for someone with ingrown fixed ideas.

Therefore, please remember that you only need to take one single pill, just one, not all the pills in the container, as some patients have done. Taking all the pills would have the same effect as taking one pill, so you might as well save the rest for another occasion.

Classical  homeopathic remedies do not expire, even though an expiry date is printed on the container. This is due to the general ignorance regarding classical homeopathy of the authorities who regulate expiry dates. Two hundred year old pills found stowed away in a forgotten drawer have worked perfectly well.

The price of a classical homeopathic pill is quite affordable, usually less than 5 cents. Since you will only need one or two pills to effect a cure, you can understand that such remedies are not economically attractive to Big Pharma. Expensive and toxic drugs that you have to take every day are the preferred medicines of Big Pharma.
