Holistic Spa Ideas at Home that will Boost Immune Function

Holistic spa visits can be a wonderful way to boost your immune system and relax away the stresses of working hard. For a lot of people, holistic spas are out of reach financially. However, the health rewards that a holistic spa gives are available to everyone with a few simple ingredients and a little know how.

Reducing stress can boost your immune function and improve mental clarity.

Here are a few simple tips to help you treat yourself to a wonderful spa like experience with your bath.

Add a green tea bag to your bath. Green tea helps detox cellulite and increases circulation to aid in weight loss goals. Holistic spas will give you green tea to drink and add green tea to their cellulite creams and oils.

Add a dollop of raw honey to your bath. Honey is detoxifying and will soften and smooth your skin.

Add a cup of milk to your bath. Milk softens the skin and is nourishing. Milk baths are a great sunburn remedy.

Add a spoonful of coconut oil. Coconut oil is nourishing to the skin and will help detoxify as well as moisturize naturally. (Be careful getting out of the bathtub, as coconut oil will make your tub slippery.)

Throw in a half cup of Epsom salt. Epsom salts are incredible pain relievers and can promote relaxation to overworked muscles while delivering necessary magnesium.

Drop in a few drops of lavender essential oil. Lavender is a wonderful way to add relaxing aromatherapy to your spa experience. Lavender is naturally anti-inflammatory and will promote deep relaxation.

Squeeze a lemon in your bath. Lemons will tighten pores, help remove toxins, and will leave you feeling refreshed.

Add a chunk of peeled, fresh ginger. Ginger is a powerful detoxification herb, helps relieve pain, and is a wonderful remedy for colds and flu. After a long, strenuous workout, ginger baths are my favorite muscle relief paired with Epsom salts.

Add a half cup of baking soda. Baking soda is possibly the most powerful anti-inflammatory agent we have access to. Baking soda will draw the toxins out of your body and leave you feeling soothed. (This is a great way to detox from sugar!)

Add powdered cinnamon. Cinnamon is great for rashes, will aid in detoxification, and will invigorate your circulation to help promote weight loss.

By choosing the ingredients that you already have access to, you can promote healing and health with a simple bath. Creating a holistic spa at home can be rewarding and an easy way to boost immunity.
