Fighting Fibro with Phyto

A light bulb went off in sixty-year-old Sues’ head when her twenty eight year old son was diagnosed with fibromyalgia.  Finally, a name was given to the condition that had plagued her family for generations.  Sue had memories of her grandmother spending day after day laying on the couch suffering from pain and depression.  She had exhausted every resource available to find relief for the condition that sent her mother to doctors regularly with irritable bowl syndrome and persistent pains that could not be identified.   Eventually, the pain, anxiety and sleeping meds robbed her of the vibrant mother that she dearly loved.    Finally, the muscle pain, stiffness and the mental fog that clouded Sue’s active brain made sense.  She too was dealing with a condition that had affected four generations of her family.

In an attempt to find natural answers for fibromyalgia – not only for herself, but her son, Sue pursued as many avenues as she could find to escape an old age of “giving up” or succumbing to over medication by traditional doctors.    She enrolled in yoga, practiced meditation, scheduled regular massages and changed her diet to primarily healthy, organic foods, with an emphasis on raw vegetables and fruits.

Living in the Midwest, Sue embraced the restorative powers of the ocean.  She and her husband planned trips to the warm waters of the Caribbean twice a year where she could weightlessly float and relax away those aches and pains.    She loved how the ocean water healed every minor blemish on her skin and left her feeling renewed and pure.   She inhaled the salty air as she listened to the rhythm of the ocean, bringing her a peace she didn’t often find at home.

Remembering how her mother lovingly fixed her salt water to soothe and heal her sore throats, Sue looked for a living source from the sea to heal the inflammation in her body as well.  She found it by adding the living power of live marine phytoplankton into her diet.  She could admire the beautiful light green microalgae and taste the salinity of the sea as she added a dropper full to her morning routine.  Rather than adding it to a smoothie or beverage she preferred to savor that pure taste of ocean microalgae straight – it is enough to bring her closer to the next trip to the sea.   She is able to think clearer and has more energy each morning.  The stiffness in her joints has relaxed considerably and she is back to her daily walks.  Sue has not cured her family of fibromyalgia, but the power of the sea has led her one step closer to managing it.  Today she can say that she lives a life with considerable less pain and a clearer mind.
