Experiment Proves Human Intelligence is Increasing Worldwide

The Experiment
In the early 1950’s on the island Koshima just off the coast of Japan scientists took part in an experiment to help shed light on how intelligence is comprehended and spread. The experiment was conducted on a specific type of monkey, the Macaca Fuscata monkey, which only inhabited the island of Koshima. The isolation of this breed of monkey was extremely important as to ascertain specific results from the experiment.

During the experiment sweet potatoes, a favorite among the Macaca Fuscata monkeys, were dropped into the sand deliberately and observed by the scientists to discover how the monkeys would react. Naturally many of the monkeys tried to eat the potatoes but could not due to the sand. However, a few of the younger monkeys realized that they could wash the potatoes in large bodies of water and then eat the potatoes free of hassle. Once learned, they spread this to the other monkeys. Within the time the entire island of monkeys had learned to wash their potatoes.

However, the most exciting part of the experiment was when the scientists left the island of Koshima to prepare another experiment on another isolated group of monkeys. The monkeys occupying the nearby island of Takasakiyama had too already learned this new feat. Astounded the Japanese scientists made an ultimate conclusion. The intelligence increases among species from just more than the five basic senses. That once a critical mass of a species has learned a new evolutionary trait the entire species, even if isolated from contact, rapidly learns too. By 1958 this discovery would become to be known as the “100th Monkey Effect.”

Intelligence Rethought
During this study a realization occurred. That the experiment proves human intelligence is increasing worldwide as well. Although just one species was examined and only a minor experiment was conducted the experiment nevertheless sheds light on how intelligence is spread throughout every species on the planet. For example, the monkeys learned the new feat of washing their sweet potatoes by seeing, feeling, hearing, etc. but the monkeys isolated on another island did not. Yet they too learned this feat through a sense that is intertwined beyond just our five senses.

The “100th Monkey Effect” can be thought to work among humans too especially as we examine our long history and see the advancements that took place and how these evolutionary feats spread rapidly throughout the globe.

Critical Mass among Societies
As technology evolves ever faster a critical mass or tipping point that was witnessed during the experiment on the monkeys can be seen among our own societies. As well as a spiritual revolution is taking place among human societies that is being spread rapidly with the help of technology especially as communications become even faster.

Call it the ‘Age of Aquarius’, call it enlightenment, a revolution not just on an intellectual level is being made but a spiritual one as well.
