Cool Passwords to Encourage Health Changes

Strangely perhaps, the use of a daily password can change lives. I will share an example of that shortly. But first, what’s the theory behind it?

My interpretation of this theory comes from what I have grown to believe in regards to the Law of Attraction. I won’t define what that entails here, but it’s worth looking into if you are curious. I will be sharing more specifics on that Universal law this year, so please subscribe.

The idea that I have grown to accept is something like this: Whatever you believe to be true, is true, whether you believe it or not 🙂 I added that last part.

Now, to take that further, and to put it in context… the theory goes… what you think about chronically, becomes what you believe to be true, and therefore becomes your reality. So, it’s probably best we think about great wonderful things yeah?

How Does a Password Relate to What you Believe?

You’re probably wondering what this might have to do with passwords? Well, I likely wouldn’t have tied these two together myself had I not seen an example, but it makes a lot of sense.

In general, people use one Master Password that they type in sometimes multiple times each day. In order for it to be a memorable password with no need to be written down, it’s generally something meaningful, rather than a series of random numbers, lower and upper case letters, and symbols.

And since it is something that travels silently across your mind, and therefore thought about chronically, it stands to reason that creating a cool password that has value for your life, should be the password of choice. Right? Seems so.

Here is an example of a standard, highly secure, often recommended password:

@gm61jxUszP1$&NJ$4Y

There’s nothing at all cool about that password. But that’s precisely what is recommended for securing accounts on the Web. That, and multi-factor authentication, but that’s a conversation for another blog post.

Use a Password Management Tool and Make the Master Password your Cool Life Changing Password

My take… if you believe in the above about the words you use in your daily conversation having an impact on what is created in your life (and you just may after seeing the example I offer below)… then here’s what I propose:

Use a Password Management tool, like LastPass or RoboForm, and secure ALL of your accounts with unique, secure passwords like above. Remember, like this one: @gm61jxUszP1$&NJ$4Y

Those tools will log you in to sites and apps automatically from both your mobile devices and computer, without the need to remember those obscure passwords. The only password you need to remember, is the one that secures the rest… the one for the account of your password management tool.

So, if that master password had more value… had more meaning, and was still secure, it could be of huge benefit (assuming again, you believe the theory behind it).

How to Make a Password Cool Like the Fonz

Happy Days are here again.

It’s imperative, I feel, that for this to work, that your password resembles something that you *do* want, rather than what you *do not* want.

Let’s work through an example. Let’s assume your desire is to quit smoking. What cool phrase might you say to yourself on a daily basis?

Don’t choose something such as: I don’t want to be a smoker any longer

More appropriately might be: I am very healthy and my lungs are clean and I feel great

Easy to remember right? And assuming if you repeat that phrase in your mind daily, like you would if it were your password, that it ultimately would come to be, then it is worth doing. What’s the harm really?

Are you on board?

Yes?

Ok, now how do you turn that phrase into a cool, secure password?

Simple.

In generally, passwords cannot contain spaces. That’s fine. And in general, a password, in order to be secure, should contain upper and lower case letters, numbers, and symbols.

Therefore, something like this would make for a cool master password for a non-smoker to be:

IamV3RYHealthy&myLungsareClean&1F33lGr8!!!

Can a Password Really Change your Life?

After typing out that password a few times, and if using a secure password manager for the rest of the passwords, it should be very simple to remember. And considering that it will be a phrase you run through your mind on a regular basis, it has the potential to change your life, as something similar has for one man. <= that link is the example story I was making reference to all along!

Your turn! Get LastPass (it’s free) or some other password management tool, create one cool password as your master password that may very well change your life, then store the credentials for the rest of your accounts within the tool by using unique secure passwords.

I hope your story has a happy ending. Be sure to change your master password to help achieve your next goal once the first one is achieved!
