10 Home remedies to cure urinary tract infection (UTI) naturally

Are you feeling the frequent urge to urinate, pain in the abdomen or lower back, burning sensation while urinating, trouble in passing the urine, and change in urine colour? Several natural cures are available to treat this disease.

Pineapple

Consume a cup full of pineapple on a regular basis. The enzyme Bromelain, present in pineapple has anti-inflammatory properties that prevent UTI symptoms. Alternatively, you can also have fresh pineapple juice. Don’t drink the canned juice.

Cranberry Juice

Drink ½ glass of cranberry juice on the daily basis. It will protect your bladder from infection. If you are already suffering from UTI, you must drink 3-4 glasses of cranberry juice every day. In order to improve the taste, you can combine it with apple juice.

Baking Soda

Blend ½ tsp baking soda, in one cup of water. Drink it. This remedy balances the acid-base ratio and provides relief.

Vitamin C

Take Vitamin C rich food, for example, tomato, guava, orange, papaya, etc. These restrict the growth of bacteria.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Add 2-3 tsp of apple cider vinegar to one glass of water. Mix 1 tsp of honey in it. Blend all the ingredients properly. Drink it thrice a day.

Tea Tree Oil

Add 8-10 drops of tea tree oil in water. Wash urethral opening, with this water. You can also blend tea tree oil with equal quantity of sandalwood oil, and juniper oil. Apply it on the area near the bladder and abdominal regions. Do practice this remedy regularly for 3-4 days, for better results. This remedy also helps in relieving the pain, allied with the infection of urinary tract.

Blueberries

Have fresh blueberries in your breakfast. For quick results, you can take fresh blueberry juice, every day in the morning and night. Don’t add artificial sweetener to this juice. It checks the growth of bacteria that result in UTI.

Aromatherapy

Mix equal quantity of juniper oil, frankincense, bergamot oil, tea tree oil, and sandalwood oil. Rub it on the regions near the bladder. Use this therapy continuously for 3-4 days.

Hot Water Compresses

Pour hot water into a water bottle. Put this bottle on your lower abdomen for 8-10 minutes. Practice it regularly. It will reduce the inflammation and provide respite from the pain caused by infection.

Water

Drink 8-10 glasses of water daily. It will dilute your urine and flush out the urinary tract infection caused due to bacteria, thereby, will help you in recovering quickly.
