You want to live the best life you can live and you have been thinking about ways to do that.  It is obvious that when you are feeling good you can do better in your everyday life.  Feeling good means you look better, it is all connected.  Our mind, body and spirit work together to create our general health and well being.  With all that in mind, we have some simple things you can do to improve your general health and boost your immune system.

Live well to boost immune system

The first and most obvious thing you can do to make some changes in your life that will boost immune system is to live well.  By that we mean change things in your life that might be hampering your ability to live your best life.  Some examples of this might be:

  • Smoking, if you smoke, quit.  If you don’t smoke, don’t start.
  • Don’t drink excessively and even better, quit drinking all together.
  • Get some regular exercise.
  • Get enough sleep.
  • Eat right.
  • Vitamins and Supplements.
  • Pay attention to your body.
  • Avoid stress and drama.

I know these are things that you have probably heard all your life but they really are the key to living a better life and staying healthy and they can help to boost immune system.  Let’s look at them a little more closely.

  • Smoking

When you smoke you take nicotine into your body.  Nicotine is a stimulant.  Over time nicotine can cause lung and heart damage.  It is also an expensive habit which takes money away from good things in your life like healthy food and healthy activities.  Not smoking is always a healthier choice than smoking.

  • Alcoholic Beverages

Nobody is saying that you can never have a drink as everything we do in this life is acceptable in moderation but if you are in a social setting, try to keep your drink order down to 2 drinks in a night.  An occasional glass of red wine is even considered a healthy choice.  Drinking regularly or too much can cause liver damage and disrupts the natural balance in your body.

  • Eat right

Eating right has always been a great way to boost your immune system.  Eating foods high in protein, minerals and vitamins remains the number one best way to boost your immune system.  Cutting out sugars or at the very least, cutting down on sugars helps the body tremendously.  Sugar has been found to contribute too many health problems from diabetes to obesity and more.

  • Pay Attention

Pay attention to your body.  It really does give you clues if something is not right.  If you seen changes in skin tone in general, changes in moles or have some swelling and pain in places you have never had it before, make sure to tell your primary care physician.  These little things can be a warning and the situation may be able to be resolved before it becomes a big issue.

Keep stress levels to a minimum.  Mind, body, spirit balance is essential and stress destroys immune systems.

  • Getting Older

The aging process causes changes in our bodies that break down the immune system.  If you are not already taking a daily vitamin, you should add one to your routine.  Most daily vitamins give you everything you need as far as balance but if you are female, you might want to take some extra calcium for your bones.  If you are over 40 years old, it is really time to start taking better care of yourself by developing a good eating, exercise and living well lifestyle.
