I’m surprised and a bit confused that you didn’t mention that without a bit of fat (like coconut oil) and adding PEPPER to the turmeric, it doesn’t get absorbed into the body in order to be used! These two IMPORTANT FACTS are necessary for the absorption of turmeric and for the body to be able to actually USE it! Just wondering WHY you left out VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION LIKE THIS?

Turmeric/curcumin IS absorbed into the body ‘as is’. However, adding black pepper and/or coconut oil, increases the absorption and bioavailability of the curcumin. What ‘surprised’ me, is the amount of turmeric powder called for in the cucumber and turmeric ‘cure’; 75 grams is an awful lot of turmeric.

I have unfortunately had to stop taking turmeric. Due to hair loss, which, I understand taking lots of turmeric can be a result of. I was taking it several times a day, not much, but I guess it would ‘build’ up and my hair loss was really getting out of hand. I’ll begin again in a few months but for now, will have to stop. I always take it with pepper and coconut oil to help with the results.

I don’t know where you get your information, but turmeric most certainly does not cause hair loss, in fact, quite the opposite is true. Turmeric [with black pepper] taken daily, lowers inflammation and increases hair thickness and growth. One should take at least a quarter of a teaspoon daily, but never more than half a teaspoon as too much will increase oxalates in one’s urine. I suffer from a thyroid condition, one of the symptoms being hair loss, and if turmeric caused further hair loss, I would be bald.
