How To Make Home-made Vaseline? Natural & Non-Petroleum Jelly!

image

As you are probably aware, Vaseline has a petroleum base and petroleum is the same substance that gasoline is made from. There has been a wealth of research which suggests that petroleum products should not be applied on our skin. Petroleum jelly forms a seal over the skin, thus disrupting the bodies ability to eliminate toxins through the pores.

Chemtox website published about several recent studies over petroleum jelly, which point out that the toxic petroleum ingredients can have detrimental effects on our health, stating that:

Petroleum- based chemicals are being found to cause significant attritional effects to the nervous system and immune system after prolonged exposure. Illnesses identified in the medical research include adult and child cancers, numerous neurological disorders, immune system weakening, autoimmune disorders [and more].”

Additional research done by the Environmental Working Group adds that,

Many of the cosmetic industry’s chemical safety assessments reveal that common petroleum-based cosmetic ingredients can be contaminated with a cancer-causing impurity called 1,4-dioxane.”

It’s Banned In Europe

The European country has banned many petroleum jelly products because they could be linked to cancer.

Women with breast cancer have twice the levels of hydrocarbons (substances found in petroleum jelly) in their breasts than women who haven’t had breast cancer.

Home-made Vaseline is perfect for dry and sensitive skin. Perhaps skin ointments and creams are a good way out. But for those who want the perfect remedy for skin that is losing its moisture and natural oils, this recipe for home-made Vaseline is the best option.
