Apoptosis or cell suicide is a name given to one such bodily protective process that tries to keep a balance between cell renewal, and cell death. According to a study carried by the Pennsylvania State University—Department of Nutritional Sciences, and published by the National Institute of Health conclusion there are certain foods that trigger directed apoptosis naturally that can alter gene expression, and influence cancer growth. Without any dangers from the pharmaceutical induced treatments.

According to another study carried by the National Kaohsiung Marine University, department of Seafood Science, Taiwan.

Study results concluded that foods that are high on antioxidants are actually, “bio-active,” and should be included in cancer treatment, and prevention.

Researchers support these antioxidant rich foods because it is believed that the team work, and combination of these foods are excellent against eradication of cancer cells.

So, my 5 Anti-Cancer Foods are as follows:

Green Tea:

Green tea is a high source of flavonoids like catechins that have been hugely proven by multiple studies to halt cancer growth like lung, prostrate, breast, and liver.Green tea has three times more catechins than black tea. But one down part is that it is high on caffeine.

And I would suggest, people on low caffeine diet to ask their physician or diet expert before drinking green tea more often.

2. Legumes:

Legumes like lentils, beans, and peas are rich source of phytonutrients like protease inhibitors, phytica, and saponin which works to inhibit the spread of cancer. They contain antioxidants, and folate that are excellent for cell repair, and division. Because of these reasons I recommend you to add more legumes to your diet.

3. Berries:

Berries like raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries are rich in phytochemical called ellagic acid that slow the progression of cancer cells.

Blueberries also contains a phenolic compound called anthocyanosides that is the most potent antioxidants up-to-date.

4. Cruciferous vegetables:

Turnips, cabbage, kale, cauliflower, broccoli, and Brussels Sprout are best foods against cancer.

They are super healing because of the presence of polyphenols called glucosinolates that are converted into erucin, and sulforaphane which gives them immense antioxidants-rich value. These veggies flushes out carcinogens from your body. Thus, helps to fight, and prevent cancer much better.

I recommend you to eat half cup of sautéed, lightly steamed or raw selection of cruciferous veggies, daily.

5. Tomatoes:

Tomatoes are rich source of lycopene which are also present in red wine and grapes. This red pigment giving compound of the fruit disrupts the natural blood flow to cancer cells, thus causing them to die due to starvation.
