How to clean your silver naturally

Many of the shop-bought silver cleaners available to us write “DANGER!” or “TOXIC!” on the labels and it makes me wonder why we should have to put our health at risk when we can easily use safe and effective ingredients instead.

If you have a house full of tarnished silverware there’s no need to get the chemicals out. And if you’ve been avoiding cleaning your silver for this very reason then I have a great solution for you. The following recipe creates a chemical reaction which causes the tarnish to disappear completely. You won’t believe how effective it is and how incredibly easy it is.

In fact, it’s not even harder work. Using toxic chemical cleaners requires more elbow grease than this does. With the following recipe, you can clean a few items at once rather than having to polish each item individually.

Don’t endanger your family by purchasing these chemicals and at the same time do your part in helping the environment. Your silver will shine as it did when you first bought it.

All you’ll need is:

-an aluminum tray or a baking dish coated in aluminum foil

-baking soda

-boiling hot water

1. Place your tarnished silver on the aluminum tray or on top of the baking dish coated with the aluminum foil (shiny side up).

2. Sprinkle baking soda over all your silver (about half a cup).

3. Pour boiling hot water to completely immerse the silver and soak for about 5 minutes.

4. Rinse, dry and enjoy!

It’s that simple. Can you believe you had never tried this before?!
