It is an obvious fact that as we age, the activity of melanocytes slows down. It reduces the production of melanin that turns hair gray. Hair gets its color from two types of melanin called eumelanin and pheomelanin, and more melanin means darker color. Oxidative stress causes hydrogen peroxide to build up in our hair follicles, slowly to build up within the hair itself and bleaching the melanin in each hair to grey from the inside.
